Environmental Responsibility

Every day, we champion efficient use of natural resources, we optimise our logistics flows and we practise responsible waste management. Wherever we operate in the world, we create close relationships with local communities to help us understand and mitigate the impact of our projects.

We participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international initiative aiming to help meet the Kyoto Protocol's targets for worldwide reduction in greenhouse gases. See our 2015 Sustainability Report for more details. But we don’t stop there.
Significant investment is made in the search for, and development of, sustainable products. We want to make tomorrow’s world better. Starting today.

And we’re succeeding. How do we know? Our Health and Safety Executive (HSE) routinely checks our compliance (at both international and local level) with legislation covering health and safety at work standards, energy consumption, waste management, water usage and greenhouse gas emissions.

Local organisations are able to implement their programmes of improvement and investment with regard to the specific nature of their manufacturing sector and geographical area.

Not only does this help us guarantee the wellbeing of employees and respect for the environment but it also allows our senior management to analyse and assess our achievements in this area and define objectives for improvements at Group level.

• At the end of 2015, Group factories were 91% and 63% respectively ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified
• 16 factories changes to the official agency for ISO 14001 Environment Management Systems certification
• Four further locations changes to the official agency for OHSAS 18001 Safety Management certification
